My field is computational geometry, and my current research is algorithms for computing minimal Steiner trees. Right now I am investigating geometric tools that can reduce the size of the (exponential) search space, and once these tools have been developed I aim to apply them to Smith's "sprouting" algorithm. I also have a few promising ideas for heuristics.

In addition to computational geometry, I am interested in optimization, mesh and mesh-free finite element methods, and continuous mathematical models.

In my spare time I enjoy making electronic music, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, submission grappling, medieval history, and conversing over a cup of coffee.
