Topologists at Iowa work in the topology of manifolds and related spaces. Special interests include categorification of knot and link invariants, three-manifold theory, embeddings of surfaces in four-manifolds, physical knot theory and applications of knotting and linking to biological problems, and the topology of algebraic varieties.
