The VIGRE REU Program Description
The program is designed for well-prepared students who have completed their first two years of college. Younger or more advanced students will be considered.
Each student will participate in one of three introductory Workshops during the first part of the summer, and then move on to work in a small research group with one of the UI professors. Students will be invited to rank several possible Research Projects, and we will place each student into a project based on a combination of the student’s preferences and background. The choice of Research Project will determine the choice of Workshop.
The workshops and research projects will be coordinated so that research projects are connected to the background developed in the workshops.
