Rodica Curtu Her research interest are in applications of differential equations to biology with a special focus on neuroscience. She uses methods from nonlinear dynamical systems, pattern formation and bifurcation theory to study how the dynamics of neuronal networks contributes to neural information processing. Recent projects include investigation of the existence of traveling and standing waves in a model for feature selectivity in local cortical circuits, and analysis of a model for alternating visual patterns caused by ambiguous stimuli as reported in binocular rivalry and moving plaids. Juan Gatica His research interest includes boundary value problems with singularities. Home Page
Yi Li His research interests are in the field of partial differential equations and their applications in mathematical physics, geometry, mathematical biology, asymptotic analysis. Home Page

Colleen Mitchell      Her primary interest is applications of ODEs, analysis and probability to biology. Recent projects include asymptotic analysis of an ODE model for the electrical behavior of cardiac cells, development of an ODE model for the octopus cells of the cochlear nucleus, and analysis of a probabilistic model for the sharpening of timing in neural systems.
