Tumor Invasion Computations

The following animations are from the illustrative example in the manuscript Computational Methods and Results for Structured Multiscale Models of Tumor Invasion by Bruce P. Ayati, Glenn F. Webb, and Alexander R.A. Anderson. The model is 2D in space with nontrivial age structure (&theta has the form of the integrand of the Gamma function):
Proliferating Cell Density
Quiescent Cell Density
Matrix Molecule Density
Matrix Degradative Enzyme Density
Oxygen Density

The following animations are from preliminary work.
Results from trivial age structure (the solutions have an age distribution, but the coefficients do not depend on age.) The oxygen diffusion coefficient is much higher in these computations than in those above.
Fully 2D results from radially symmetric initial conditions:
Proliferating Cell Density
Quiescent Cell Density
Matrix Molecule Density
Matrix Degenerative Enzyme Density
Oxygen Density

2D results from non-symmetric initial conditions:
Proliferating Cell Density
Quiescent Cell Density
Matrix Molecule Density
Matrix Degenerative Enzyme Density
Oxygen Density
