This HW is a guide to help
you to study the 2nd Midterm (11/19) Wednesday. By no means is an
exhaustive list of problems. See it as a guide.
Essentially, the 2nd Midterm will
cover chapters 8 and 10 of the book. More specifically, the sections
are:
Sections: 8.1, 8.2, 8.3 and 10.1,
10.2, 10.3, 10.4, 10.5
Students should be VERY
comfortable to compute center of mass, areas, surfaces area, arc
lenght, tangent lines when the equations are given in the forms:
Cartesian Coordinates, Polar Coordinates, Parametric Equations.
Students also are supposed to deal wih the equations of basic conics as
Ellipses, Parabolas and Hyperbolas. Use the previous HW (HW #4 and HW
#5) as a complementary list of problems to study.
The T.A will do a review and
practice exercises Monday and Tuesday before the Exam.
Good Luck !!!!!
