Announcement (03/03/08) : In order to clarify the policy about missed exams, quizzes, a specific paragraph was added on the syllabus (download file in the link above).

The paragraph is


Missed exams policy: Make-up exams will be given based on an official documented
medical, or religious excuse. It could be given also based on a very compelling reason.
In this case, a justification in writing needs to be presented to base the decision if the
make-up will be granted. Waking up late, missing the bus, and excuses of this sort in
general do not account for compelling reasons.

The same applies for make-up quizzes.

This review list of problems should be considered as guide to orient your studies for the 1st Midterm on 02/29 (Friday). It will be counted as your HW #4.
In order to be completely prepared for the exam, students should be comfortable also with problems in HW#1, HW#2, HW#3, and the examples worked out in class.
Students are also encouraged to come to office hours and discuss this list with the instructor and the T.As.

The review list has 4 parts - You just have to turn in PARTS I and II.

PART IV - A good source of exercises about computation of limits are Section 2.3) 11-30 and Section 2.6) 15-36.
Try to be confortable with these examples. The ideas behind many of them have been worked out in class as examples.
You do not need to turn in these exercises just study them.

Remark:

Although the material is cumulative, the focus of the second midterm will be from section 3.3 (including) on. Clearly, this does not imply you should disregard the material that was studied for Midterm #1. It will be somehow indirectly connected with the material that will be covered in Midterm #2 and in this sense, will appear there.  As it was mentioned in class, students should be very confortable with material covered in HW #5,6,7,8,9.

Part I) Study the section 4.5 Curve Sketching. Then, do the sketch of the curves in examples 1 to example 6 in pages 309-313 with your own words. In other words, Study these examples and repeat what is there, with your own words.

FINAL EXAM: Final exam will be comprehensive. It will cover the basic aspects of Limits, Derivatives and Integrals.
                         A good guide for the exam are the lectures notes, the previous midterms, and HW.

                          Students should be confortable with the type of problems discussed in class, midterms, HW.
