Interactive Graphics:

NOTE: Graphics on this page are in developental stage and will probably be re-organized in the next few months.

Date of most recent changes: Fri Jul 9 13:45:58 CDT 1999

Some of the graphics (those in the second list below) take a while to load.

You must have a Java capable veiwer.

Instructions: Put cursor into graphics window, and with left button pressed, drag the cursor. The object shown will rotate. There are three other things one can do: translate, scale, and reset. To do these use pop-up menu at top of frame. The translating and scaling are done by dragging the cursor in the window as with rotation.

NOTE: At the moment we have only a few test interactive graphics available. The captions and othere explanations are not completed.

Try the first list before trying second list. Although they all work (on some browsers) there are some performance issues for the last (experimental) list as indicated.

Some sample interactive graphics--try these first:

Next a series of embeddings of the Moebius band.

This is currently under construction and with labels and captions not complete. But the graphics are all there.

Some experimental interactive graphics.

Have a look if you are feeling adventurous. These are larger data sets.

They are more interesting to look at but slower in loading and interaction times.

Note: In some tests, graphics have taken 10-30 seconds (or more) to load. For a few attempts at viewing, my Netscape viewer died. But when I deliberatly tried to repeat this failure, I could not.

  • A Moebius band and its boundary, but with half twist in opposite direction--in separate windows.
  • A Moebius band and its boundary--in same window.

  • A Moebius band with more twists. Boundary shown in separate window.
