Research Interest:

My research interests are in the area of geometric topology and low-dimensional manifolds; in particular, 3-manifolds and knot theory. In recent year I have been working on problems concerning Dehn surgery on knots and links, 2-handle additions, and incompressible surfaces in 3-manifolds.

Here is my curriculum vita and a list of publications and preprints.

Computer Programs:

"MING" is a computer program used to minimize MD-energy of polygonal knots, reduce number of edges, and draw/visualize their 3-dimensional pictures. It was written in C++, OpenInventor, and Motif.
